This campsite had the best mountain views! You do need to be on the upper part of this campground to get 360 views. If you're on the north or west side of the campground, you won't get great views. We couldn't help looking out the windows or just sitting on top of our camper to enjoy the vast views of the mountains. The camping pad is a little shorter than other sites. We did not have a problem since our camper is 20' long. We noticed other campers were a bit tight in their site, plus with their tow vehicle. There are restrooms and free showers in walking distance. The showers only stay on for about a minute, so you have to keep pushing the button if you want it to stay on more continuously. There is a boat ramp just on the north side of the campground when you first enter the area. You do need an area permit for this campground and many other recreational areas around the lake. There is usually a working kiosk at the entrance, but when we were there, it was out of service, so we had to go to the nearby Ace Hardware store to purchase it there. It was $10 for a 3 day permit. We definitely plan on coming back!

We live in Littleton and love going to Chatfield State Park for fishing, running and tent camping. This was our first time with a camper with full hookups and our stay was very comfortable. Site is very clean, easy to pull into as it was a pull through site. Showers, restrooms and laundry is within walking distance.

So glad this dump and water station is here! We were getting worried about where we were going to get water and dump for out camping trip to Crested Butte, but found this gem just in time! Water is $5 and dumping is $10. There is a sign that states "hours" of Monday-Friday, 8 am to 4 pm, but we and others were definitely using it after hours and on weekends. So, not sure how much they enforce their hours. Payment is based on honor system. There is a large metal column in the middle of the station with a slit opening to insert your money.
