went here July 2019 due to reviews on here and YouTube video we found - the YouTube video was apparently filmed when the lake was low because it was higher when we arrived and the water came up into the bushes around the edge - we camped all the way out on the point as shown in the pictures provided by others and enjoyed it - had great weather and enjoyed watching the skiing and boating on the water - was a little buggy but not too bad - very quiet and peaceful and we kayaked around a few times taking in the beautiful scenery

We were here mid July attempting to get into the same site that Grand Adventure stayed in - saw how beautiful it was on YouTube - but alas we were too big so were blessed to find another site on the same road - the road is not maintained like in some national forests and recreation areas but we were able to go in and out though had to drive very slowly in some areas - enjoyed listening to the rushing water of the creek and hiking - drove into Ketchum and had lunch - a very nice place for a few days but if were in this area again we would try one of the other locations for variety - had gorgeous weather and having a dump so close was a plus

extremely nice bathhouse for those who needed it and nice to have free dump and water but we were here middle of February and was very crowded - would be a great spot perhaps at other times of the year?

after boondocking at Flaming Gorge we stayed two nights here with visiting Dinosaur National Monument and oil change and new tires for our truck - owners were very friendly and the sites in this small campground were under the shade of large cottonwood trees with nicely mowed grass- wifi was a plus and came in handy - the owners were very welcoming and location was close to restaurants, Walmart, etc - lots to do in the area - they even gave me detergent when I ran out in their laundry - cleanest litle laundry room ever - awesome donut shop across the street and the Vernal Brewing Company and Plaza Mexical Restaurant all were very nice places to eat - convenient for visiting the Dinosaur Nat Monument - Vernal is a nice little town with beautiful huge flower pots lining the main street

Beautiful views of Rough River under the hardwood trees - Clean with nice fire rings and grills and picnic table - many sites can only accommodate tents or pop-ups but a few can handle larger RVs - we had a 29 foot trailer - we had water and electric and was only $11 per night with our America the Beautiful Senior Pass - friendly helpful host - enjoyed watching fishing boats on the lake - quiet and peaceful

We were fortunate to get a fcfs site #04 which is a pull-through - our 30' trailer and F-250 truck fit very well with room to spare - picnic table and grill and beautiful trees - huge site with lots of privacy due to distance from other sites and trees - there was a bull moose (I think that's the correct term)laying in grass and trees at rear of our site when we pulled in and he stayed the whole time we were setting up and paid no attention to us - no hookups but we use solar and even with the trees we did okay - hiking trails from campground were nice- we found a fort hidden near our campsite which was built by two creative and crafty kids from Texas that was a pleasant surprise - they had left a booklet with their first names for visitors to sign - wish I could contact them to show them pictures I took of their fort and some entries in their booklet written by people prior to us - it has given joy to those who found it before our visit so these kids accomplished their mission - we hated to leave this area and would recommend this campground to everyone for the beauty and the peace

We loved our site right on the lake - level with water and electric, picnic table, fire ring with grate for grilling/cooking - great views watching boats, kayaks, fish jumping, turtles - well taken care of grounds and friendly people - shower and bathrooms which we didn't need to use but was convenient to most sites - quiet and peaceful at time we were there since not quite summer yet - the only negative was no hiking trails nearby and no cell service but a plus was that we could fish right from our site and not far from boat ramp; however if only using a kayak you could put in right at the site - we paid half price with our America the Beautiful Senior Pass and well worth the $11 per night

We were here the last week in August 2018 - was planning on staying 2 nights but was so peaceful and beautiful that we stayed 4 nights - we had the last and largest spot right on the edge of the canyon - gorgeous views and no security lights or street lights to block the amazing night skies - there was only two other campers there for a couple of nights so we literally had the place all to ourselves - some people drove around the loop a few times and some of the oil workers drove by a couple of times but the peace and quiet was awesome. nice picnic shelters at the site and plenty of room to roam - had seen it on Youtube and knew we would love it and we did

This is basically a boondocking campground with a bathroom and water is only available at a spigot beside the camp host site - parking areas are grass with a picnic table all located around a lake - half price with Senior America the Beautiful Pass - located near the Everglades National Park and within Big Cypress National Preserve for sightseeing - saw alligators swimming in the lake several times - nothing outstanding but it does serve for a basecamp for sightseeing and everyone was very friendly - a good alternative if Midway Campground is full

We stayed 4 nights the first of February and had water and electric at only $14.00 per night - if you are over 55 you get a 25% discount - not sure why one reviewer said the road was bumpy because we found it to be in excellent shape and was a beautiful drive - gorgeous grounds with palm trees and live oaks with Spanish moss hanging everywhere - excellent shower house and extremely clean and inviting - we don't have to use them but always check them out on our walks - very nice picnic shelters and playground and dock at the lake all within a pleasant walk from the campsites - easy access to the dump - very peaceful atmosphere and large sites allow for privacy
