Thursday May 11-Thursday May 18,2023 Site 88 $659.54 Total with Taxes and Confirmed Site Number...Reservation made approximately 2- 3 months in advance of arriving...they stated they were sold out but each day there was 30-50% or more sites Unused...Fri & Sat nights had highest site occupancy

WOULD WE STAY HERE AGAIN? Yes, overall beautiful facility...Shower rooms, rules and billing (found out after we returned) were the only real issues we encountered...Overall stars probably a Solid 3 or 4. Not a perfect 5 as the showers were just, uggghhh!

PROS:
-Location: Southern tip of Pigeon Forge, just off Parkway 10-15 minutes to Dollywood and All Show Venues in Pigeon Forge. Minutes to Gatlinburg
-Easy Check-in
-Mostly level/concrete sites--only used anderson levelers to level about an inch
-Alot of space between and behind sites
-Picnic Tables were blue metal and in good condition and Fire rings were cleaned in between guests
-Very clean/fresh/modern areas
-Amazing Basement/recreation area: Life size Chess, Connect 4, Tic Tack Tow, Bonfire area, pool Tables, Amusements, Activities Room, Meeting Room, Gamers Stations, Air Hockey for 8...Truly Impressive area with very affordable prices! As Mom was in a wheelchair we had to get a key to use a rear elevator to get downstairs
-Lots of on-site Activities, Daily
-Pool and Lazy River are separate areas
-Site area was very quiet
-They did collect trash daily-during mid-day. We also witnessed them spraying grass for weeds and bugs as well as trimming sites
-If you need to be respectful of other members of your party watching their budget there are two other campgrounds coming up the hill to Camp Margaritaville. They are: Rivers Landing and Twin Mountain Inn & RV Park. They appear to have less activities and space than Margaritaville RV Resort but all three can easily be walked between each other. And while Margaritaville does offer a Lodge, there is also a Radisson Branded property on the same side of the road as the campgrounds-again walkable though it would be easier to get to each in a car if you have a member that has difficulties walking

CONS:
-SHOWER ROOMS---As we are early risers, typically we showered around 5-7am. During the week we were there we experienced everything from Perfectly Clean to Filthy and everything in between. Water was generally hot but at times could be cooler. Floors were always soaked. Female individual shower rooms had no hooks to hang anything, mirrors that fogged and stayed fogged, no trash cans in the shower rooms themselves and no shelf in the shower to set toiletries-other than a single soap dish. Vents were crazy dirty-as in they probably haven't been cleaned since they opened the bathhouses and there were always bugs and dirt in the shower floor edges/corners. If the males was clean, the females were dirty and vice versa. Males and Females Shower Room Rating 1 out of 5 stars. Horrible!!!!!
-They give you a list of rules but the don't do anything to enforce them. During the week we were there we watched a/two different units being washed, b/people put out pet cages around their units for their dogs, and c/older units not just over 15 years old (some well over 25 years old)
-Some rules make no sense...such as this rule: "Not allowed to leave your dog unattended in your trailer" So we took our 20 lb dog with us in the truck each day. But some days it was 85..had we done that we we would have killed the dog. We tried to locate a local Kennel but there are very few in P/F area. We called Front Desk and asked if we could let her alone inside trailer for a few hours to go to shows and/or doing the tourist thing. They had no idea what I was talking about and said, "yeah, no problem". We talked to our "neighbors" just in case there were any problems-but they too had dogs and understood. Most people there seemed to have 2-4 dogs and yes, some were big breed dogs!
-Charged us almost $25 more at check-in than stated on confirmation paperwork. I do not see anything why they would have. No resort fee's or local taxes that I am aware of. Caught the error when we returned home. Called them. Called 8 days ago...Still waiting for a response

This is clearly a corporate run facility with hoteliers running it. They are not your typical family campground hosts or have an understanding what campers want and need. Keep the rules that you need to maintain order but loose the fine print rules. You aren't following them anyway, so why exactly do you have them?

Recommendation: This is a wide open area, security and a gate or at least cameras may make sense overnight to keep the looters away. You are two minutes off the Parkway. Camping equipment is not cheap nowadays and unfortunately walks when opportunities present themselves. And to the GM, hop in one of those Golf Carts you rent and get out and visit with your campers...make some new friends, we don't bite!

We have a 2022 Airstream International 27FB (basically 28 Ft), no slides and tow with a Ford 450 with an 8 ft bed. We are only weekend warriors with the occasional longer vacation. We were here for 7 nights in July, 2022. Directions: I 99 Plank Road Exit, turn toward Hollidaysburg, just past Walmart is Convention Center Blvd—turn Right, as if going into Splish Splash Auto Wash. Road is Gravel/Dirt, with a slight incline. We are very low to the ground but did not rag at all. Stay right following Camping Blue Sign. At Campground Entrance sign directs you to stop and call. Owner will meet you and direct you to your site. Sites are all shale/stone…mostly level but some leveling is required. Each site has a concrete fire pit and nice picnic table. Small Campground…the outer “U” is for back in sites…most appear good for 35 ft units, some for larger. Inner portion are small pull thru sites…Tent sites are on the small part of the “U” in the back of the campground. There is plenty of space between units and all are separated by a strip of grass. Very nice landscaping throughout. While only 5 minutes off of Plank Road and 10 Minutes to the I99…car noise was generally blocked by the storage units in front of the campground. Restrooms/Shower Room are exceptionally clean and hot water was plentiful in them. Water pressure was good. One Shower stall area was fully handicapped accessible as it was large and had the roll in shower stall, grab bars and even a portable shower chair. Both shower areas had the shower curtain for showering and a shower curtain for the dressing area. Adjacent to the Bathroom/Shower Room areas was a Laundry Area…it had 2 washers and 2 dryers. Washers were $1.50 per load. It also had a wash sink area. Firewood was available for $8.00 for a milk crate full (approx 8 pieces) It is hard would and burns slowly…6 pieces of wood lasted 5 hours and we gave 2 to a neighbor who was staying there a bit longer. For most of the time, there were only 10-12 campers there …most were very pleasant and we found out they were work camping (nursing, railroad etc…) a few were retired and in the area for a few months and just thought they would stay there since costs were reasonable (about $40/Nt). Most seemed to have dogs and two had larger dogs (a very friendly boxer and an older yellow lab) Walmart, Sam’s Club, a Bank with ATM, Dentist, Mall, Doctors etc… are only 5 minutes away (though I would not walk there) and Sam’s had the cheapest gas in the area at the Sam’s Club Pumps. If you go out of the Campground and to the right about 2-3 miles is Meadows Ice Cream/Frozen Custard and an awesome Miniature Golf Place as well as a Doggy Daycare. Sheetz Convenience Store, Rutters Convenience Store a Hoss’s Steak and Seafood House and small Hotel are all in the immediate vicinity as well. For RV parts and accessories the closest is Ansley & Lewis RV Center. They have a good supply of parts and accessories and are an easy 15 minute drive from the campground. The campground has a few larger games you can use to play with but no organized activities program, playground, pool or hiking trails. The Campground is very well maintained and is great for an overnight or two stay while in the area. Within an hour drive there is Raystown Lake, which is a 26 mile Lake which allows power boats and has amazing Striped Bass Fishing and a number of State Parks like Trough Creek and Prince Gallitzin that offer plenty of Hiking Trails. We would absolutely recommend this Campground and will return again next year when back in the area again.

Reserved on recreation.gov approx 60 days in advance for Wed-Fri quick stay...approx 12 sites were available at that time for those days in late July. Easy 3 Hour Trip from Long Pond Raceway area, Pocono's to Seven Points, Hesston, PA...Roads were all good I80W, to I99S, to PA453, to 22W to 26S to Seven Points Road. Altoona is just 45 minutes away. There is a large Wal-mart at the corner of Routes 22 & 26 for anything you may need (maybe 10-15 minutes from Campground). Seven Points Road leads you straight to the Check-in building...7 long spots to park...easy check-in (showed America the Beautiful Senior Pass...to receive 50% off $35/Nt site and Drivers License) given Map/Directions to Bay Camp Loop, Rules and Trash Bag. Road is one large loop back to check-in building, well marked with campsite loops. Very few if any low hanging tree branches...road is wide. You go past the Huntington County Visitors Bureau Building, Main Building, Marina, Restaurant, many play and walking areas before coming to Bay Campsites. Quiet area...about 15 sites in Bay. Has a Restroom...clean, flush toilets. Closest Showers are next loop down in Senoia and were clean with plenty of hot water at 6AM. Dumpster and Children's Play area also in Bay Loop. We reserved Handicap Accessible Site for Mom. It was very large, flat (we didn't even have to level as it was perfect), small pebble, 50amp, backed up to main road (down the hill) thought traffic noise would be an issue---but it absolutely was not. Had a larger, older picnic table & firepit. Lots of space between sites. Note we did drive thru Senoia Loop and sites did appear much closer together but some were right on the lake....great if you were tying up a boat but then anyone can tie up anywhere, except in the marina itself so, you are not guaranteed to be able to tie up at your campsite. Campground Loops to the Lake could be walked too but there is plenty of parking at lake and a short 3-5 minute drive from just about anywhere in the campground. Our site easily could have also accommodated a large tent. Mom had no problem traversing just using her cane/walker. Easily could use a wheelchair on it. No low hanging branches. AT&T 5G Service had 2-3 Bars. Walking path around Seven Points is made of rubber so pushing a wheelchair could be done but alot is hilly so could be challenging for wheelchair accessibility. Dump station has 4 lanes & can be easily accessed on either way in or out....very clean area. Drinking water is also available in that area as well as dumpster and recycling. Overall Great Experience! Have no reservations about returning again!
