We came to a fork in the road and there happen to be a camp area right at the fork we pulled in there with a small camper and stayed. There’s a little small creek running through it which was really convenient for washing dishes and letting the kids play. There is a bear box there as well as a stick in the tree to hoist your trash. The site was very clean!

It’s a large parking lot and you can take a tent into the woods if you would like. I had a small camper and we backed into a spot by backing over the parking block into the grass a little bit. There are a lot of people there sharing the same space. But it didn’t feel that way while we were spreading out. Lots of great hiking in the area!!

When we pulled in we were carrying a small camper. A lot of the campers were positioned to where no one else could join them and I was sick of driving so I unhooked the trailer and one parking spot and parked my suv in another in the tent spots. Definitely take a hike down to the water it is absolutely gorgeous! Porter potty‘s on site.

As I was driving through trying to find a spot most of them were taken at the beginning. It is an ATV riding park so towards the beginning it’s very noisy. We drove quite a bit into it until we started seeing Properties again and turned around and took the very first campsite headed back. You cannot see if somebody is camped up there so I had my son get out and walk up and double check. It absolutely Has to be the best campsite there is. It’s on top of a mountain and a gorgeous view of pikes Peak. I was carrying a small camper and I doubt you would be able to get up in there with anything else bigger than that FYI. I assume because it was the very last spot that’s why I did not hear very many ATVs while we stayed

You can have just about any campsite between there and the damn however when I was there most of them were already taken. We had to drive a very long ways to reach the lake. I was carrying a small camper. All of the spots before the dam did not seem easy to pull into with a camper or were already taken. We went over the Damn and there were sites both on the left and the right side. We chose the right and set up camp. The next day we timed it getting back to the highway and it was 45 minutes.
