We left on a first name basis with the owner and staffers at this friendly site. Our camp was right on the river with pretty mountain views. Bill at the main office was a hoot and everyone was so accommodating. WiFi is available in two places and the showers were good and hot!

We tried to get a site with electricity but they were full for the weekend. That is no problem for us as we are set up to dry camp. There was plenty of room in the overflow site and we camper right at the edge of the beach. The showers were very clean and the park rangers very professional and helpful. We loved this spot. The sunsets were beautiful and it was fun to watch the watercraft launching. Quite a few cigarette boats launched from there. Overflow cost $25 per night but we had access to the dump station and fresh water.

We enjoyed our stay and touring the Homol’ovi ruins from the 14th century situated on the Little Colorado River. We were able to see a reconstructed keva in the midst of the ruins. The facilities were pleasant with four separate, private hot shower rooms ( separate from bathrooms) with heaters. At night heat was turned on in the bathrooms, too. The sites weren’t too close together. Homol’ovi I is only a mile from the campground if you’d like to get in a hike. Homol’ovi II ruins were about a 7 mile round trip from the campground. We paid $15 to dry camp but the ranger said the rates are about to increase to $18. We just needed an interesting site to stop on our way to Santa Fe. This was just fine.
