We stay here a couple of times per year and one of our favorite parks in DFW. Booking is easy and you can check a site out prior to arrival. Sites are far enough apart, and easy to book one that is closed in with trees to get the true feel of wilderness camping close to home. Lots of trees and normally pretty quiet. If you really want quiet, book in the equestrian part of the park as it is further away from the hustle.
You want to book well in advance in the summer and easy site to book directly from a map. Last minute, check Thursday and Friday morning when cancelations come in. Far better than the State park across the lake.

Website states the park is no longer open. Owners have Dripping Springs RV Park that they are concentrating on. Does not look like any new ownership.

We first stayed in the deluxe site that had a porch with a couch and propane heater coffee table. What I did not like about this site and many of the sites on the road is they were not level. Before putting blocks under the wheels, it had the front wheels completely off the ground and still needed another inch. We decided to stay a few more days and moved to the South side. Great level pad, clean bathrooms and laundry, and moose walking through the campsite each morning. Loved running the jeep around the trails and good food in town. Really enjoyed the museum and worth every penny of the $12 entry fee. Was able to easily work remote with T-Mobile and stream movies at night. Starlink is pretty fast here as well. Really appreciated the weather as it was 95 in Denver and 110 in Texas and 68 here.
