This was my second stay at the campground; first time tent camping, this time with a travel trailer. Site 144 is on a small loop, less crowded and less noise. (Also determined by who is camping nearby) Mostly open area, with a new grow of trees coming along. Steamboat Springs is 50 minutes away, Routt National forest and forest roads 5 minutes away. Awesome views of the mountains to the SW and NE.

While this area is very popular, there is lots of space along the road and the nearby Temple Mountain areas. The views are amazing and much better than Goblin Valley State Park Campground. Some of the access roads area little rutty; just go slow.
There are several slot canyon hikes nearby including the popular Little Wildhorse Canyon trail. Up the road headed back towards the Goblin Valley State Park road there's the aforementioned Temple Mountain area which has several trails and roads heading north with many side roads to explore.
On my next trip to the area, lot's more exploring to do.

The camping experience was OK. Campground is built into a small hill. My site and a few others have a flat spot for the trailer but and incline to get into it, therefore your tow vehicle is an incline. Not all sites have a sewer line, which is weird and you have a couple in a row with them, then one without. Glad I did not have to pitch a tent, those sites were all not level. They have a weird reservation quirk, I have never seen before,
$20 to reserve the site you chose or they may relocate your with no choice. Just charge a few bucks more and get rid of this quirky system.

I stayed at the campground on 2 separate nights on a recent trip from Colorado to Tennessee. It's a beautiful, peaceful location along the Current River in the Ozark Rivers Scenic Rivers. The campground is in the midst of several improvements, including new showers. I was there in May on a weekend day and it was not crowded or rowdy.

I found a campground away from the crowds in the Black Hills. Locate less than 35 minutes / 22 mills from Hill City, SD. The last 4.5 miles is a well maintained dirt road. Very quite with the exception of the passing ATVs. Tthe adjoining forest roads give lots to expore by vehicle, ATV, bike, or by foot. A stream runs along the back of the campsites, providing a soothing background. All but three sites have great solar exposure till mid afternoon follwed by shade. Hang crank well pump, pit toilet, no power, campground host. Senior discount cuts fee in half. newly installed $2 fee per day for pets.

Like a lot of older campgrounds, they were built for smaller camp trailers and less features. Villanueva could use maybe a year downtime and a refresh, provided the State of New Mexico has the funds. During a recent trip to the State I stayed at three different state park campgrounds, Santa Rosa Lake Campground and Oliver Lee Campground were in much better shape.

This was the third campground stop along the Oregon coast in October 2023. Had to wait a bit to get in because this is a very popular place. The campground is in good condition, with easy access to bathrooms and showers if you are in need of them. I missed that my site had no power, but there was power at many of the sites, not quite sure what the power layout was, my bad. Plenty of trail on the campground property in my case to walk the dog. Overall, I would say a congenial group of campers, no rowdiness; makes it a good place to sleep.
Short drive to downtown Bandon and the beaches.

This campsite within the Medicine Bow NF / Snowy Range is a perfect location for great views and great hiking. It is a dry camping site, great for solar; the only water is from a manual pump well. Lots of wild life around the campsite, we had a couple of moose in the campground. It is a relative short season, opening in July, in some years, mid July because of the snow.
The experience for me was a bit dampened due to a lots of downed logs from some rather big trees. I know the Forest Service has been lacking funds and they have been starting to revamp old campground around the country and this location could use some TLC and removal of the trees on the ground. Despite this, I will stay there again in the future.

I originally planned to visit the Owyhee Wilderness / Leslie Gulch in 2020; but, then Covid hit, finally making it there in October 2023. This area like most of eastern Oregon is volcanic and this are is full of volcanic formations, interlaced with meadows in the canyons, like no other place I have been to.
The campground is very basic, no water, power, cell service, or any nearby service, you are in the wilderness. There are no number sites, they are all gravel, many are uneven, front to back. The scenery is amazing, lots of hiking trails that take you up through lots of canyons and overlooks. It’s definitely dark sky country.
The nearest town is Jordan Valley, 42 miles away. About half of the drive is on dirt roads, the last 14 miles are dirt, the last 5 miles are rough, no high clearance needed, but go slow. This is where I decided to get rid of my “Covid Trailer”. The scenery makes the bumpy ride all worth it.

Found this location on Campendium and was quite surprised at what I found despite the Google Earth views. As you leave the desert moving into the canyon, you are now surrounded by trees along the canyon bottom. The surrounding canyon walls and mountains are spectacular. Camping is first come, first serve. A little more than half the sites are in the shade mostly, the balance mostly sun, good for those who want to keep their batteries charged with their solar panels. No gas, propane, or grocery stores, so load up before you head out.
