Big park, but the sites are generously spaced apart with trees and bushes for privacy. The roads could use some new pavement, it was seriously bumpy to get around the backside in my rig; guess that helps keep people under the 5 mph speed limit!

Good staff, keeps the place clean and well-managed. Little store with essentials, and wine store next door to it.

I wanted to stay in the Hudson Valley, so location was good, although not really close to a big city. If you want NYC, be prepared to either take their tour bus or drive an hour or so to get to the Big Apple.

This is a basic RV parking lot, where they are trying to stack as many rigs in as they can. So expect to be able to hear all of your neighbor's outside conversations, and be prepared to have kids walk/run through your site all the time. I had 10 feet between me and the ClassC on one side and the people on the other side moved their table to within two feet of my trailer so they would have room for their mat, BBQ, bikes, etc. Needless to say, the crowded conditions mean much noise and little privacy.

Also, the online reservation system (you fill out a request form, they mail back a cryptic reservation) does not let you know if you got the kind of site you requested or not. So when I showed up, I didn't get the oceanview/oceanfront I had requested, I was in a lineup one spot away from the dumpster, propane, and playground.

Finally, the wifi was overloaded when the park was full, so connections kept dropping or timing out. Finally gave up and used my own hotspot to access the internet (ATT Unlimited via Rogers).

Apparently this park has new owners, but they have a long ways to go to make a proper RV park. The "beachfront" sites were literally sand, with glass (barely missed my tire!) and no picnic tables or fire pits or, well, anything. No bathroom in this section, just a broken down old one that is closed so you have to walk 5 minutes to the other loop or across the street to the bar. There's not even a sign for where to check in (the RVs are on one side of the road, you check in at the bar on the other side of the road, but nowhere to park a big rig over there).

The people are nice, the bar serves good food, and there is a coin-op laundry at the end of the second motel row next to the bar. But that doesn't excuse charging $50 for a water/electric site that had literally nothing else there.

With a lot of work and time and money, this could be a great little spot. For now, though, unless you have an early morning ferry, you're better off picking a different spot.

This is a long ways to go for a one-night stand so plan to stay awhile, and it will be worth it. A small campground on the Gulf Coast, almost on the border of TX and LA, and you get to drive through a lot of oil refineries in Port Arthur to get there. But it's worth it: endless beach less than a minute from every campsite and beautiful sunsets. Remote, no stores, no nothing except a little campground office, trails around the marsh, and shells on the beach that are plentiful and lovely.

This is mostly a long-term resident park, so the best spots are not open for weekly or nightly stays. I have to use earplugs to keep out the truck noise on Interstate 40 at night, it is crazy loud till 1AM or so. The sites are tightly spaced, so that the picnic table for my site is right next to the hose, sewer, and power for my neighbor.

And despite this park advertising it has a propane service, the woman at the front desk refused to fill my certified fiberglass tanks (Viking brand) saying her propane supplier does not permit it. This is the first time in 11 months I have ever heard that excuse! I offered to show her my tank certifications but she didn't want to discuss the matter further. When I checked in on Monday, the guy at the front desk said they were fine to fill. So how does that happen that two front desk people give different answers? I'll be filling my tanks elsewhere and not staying here again.

Scoped this out for a friend, and ended up staying here 3 nights myself while recovering from a long hot weekend in Tucson. This place goes the extra mile, even offering to back my trailer in when my remote control was on the fritz! And the front office worked the reservation to give me passport america and good sam discounts on different nights, so I ended up paying $39 for the 3 nights of full hookups.

Sites are generously spaced apart, with little wooden fences for privacy, and an area to set up your table, chairs and grill. No table/benches provided. I rarely heard or saw neighbors, it's a really quiet park, even though it was full 2 of the 3 nights I was there.

Showers are generous (a private toilet and sink as well as plenty of room to move around in, and the hot water was endless. Nice rain-shower type showerheads too. Laundry is small, but not busy, so no waiting for washer or dryer ($2.50 total for wash and dry).

You can walk through a dirt path to the Albertsons grocery store, or drive into the downtown area in 5 minutes. So this location is great for sightseeing or for more practical matters.

And if you need RV service, ask for Rhonda or Ken at AAA RV repair, they did a great job on my wheels and did a bunch of small things for my friend's trailer.

Down narrow winding roads, past Wilbur Dam and next to the Appalachian Trail is one of the sweetest little campsites I've enjoyed, Wautaga Dam. A TVA site, it has a friendly camp host who does 2x daily garbage pickup from sites, and almost every site is a waterfront one. All have hookups (water and electric) and there is a dump station on the way out.

Fishing and paddling are the main activities here, along with hanging out enjoying the view.

Note: The roads are narrow to get here, and sites have length limits so check those carefully if you have a bigger rig.

I love this place, it's one of my favorite campgrounds. There's now a camp store where you check in with the hosts, who are welcoming and very helpful about the local area. Nearest groceries are in Elizabethton (Ingles is a longer drive but worth it) as is gas. Boat launch is down at the day camping but its easy enough to launch kayaks or canoes from places in the campground.

I had enough T-Mobile via hotspot to keep in touch with people, which was a nice surprise. Otherwise, a quick drive up to the top of the road past the campground turnoff will get you ATT or Verizon service.

If you have a senior pass for national parks, it will give you a bit of a discount here.

Small (20+ spots) but only half-full on the weekend. Excellent Verizon and ATT signal, ok T-Mobile. Quiet, nicely set up sites. Boat launch and lots of local fishing boats during the day. Dead quiet at night despite being close to Tallahassee and the airport. And yes, there is a rooster!

It's all dry camping here, but the sun makes solar work well and I never busted out my generator the week I was here, despite some big storms moving through. The beach is endless and was relatively uncrowded because it was the first week of the season here.

Sites can be spacious and private or not, depending on where you pick. Site 3 was a corner spot across from the camp hosts, so no chance of a generator running there (they have hookups). Other sites can be rather like a parking lot (see photo).

Toilets are clean (although could use less of the spray scent!) and showers are too, but are cold, so be prepared.

It can be windy here, so if using a tent or shelter, do yourself a favor and bring 18 inch steel stakes (or buy them at the hardware store in town). The winds sent my shelter flying across the campground with only 8 inch stakes.
