I really hate to ding this campground as they seem well intentioned, country loving, God fearing folks. We called a week in advance to make a reservation and were told they could accomodates us during the Covid19 pandemic. A hour away from arriving, I again confirmed our reservation while my wife was picking up supplies at the Walmart. Again, I was assured everything was OK. When we arrived at the check-in booth, there was no one manning the booth and so we began a self registration form and to disconnect our tow vehicle. A few minutes later a gentleman arrived in a pickup and said there had been a goof up and they were full. Additionally he said our rig would not have fit into the site that had initially been reserrved.
Since we did not actually stay at the facility, I can not comment on the site conditions or ammenities but finding yourself without a reserved site at 5 PM can raise the srtess level, as I am sure other readers can relate to.
Bottom line, we found that the State Campground 10 miles up the road could accomodate us and was an excellent facility.

One of the few PA SP opened year round, esp in the Western area of state. This area is great for hiking right from the campground and the trails are diverse and well blazed. We stayed Mar 30 - Apl 1 and there was no one at the campground except for one over-nighter. Caution to big riggers... the road up & down from the SP check-in office is narrow &, one hard hairpin turn. No problem for us in our 35' MH since the parking areas near the hairpin were unoccupied this early in the season and we could swing our rig wide. Road is narrow for 1/2 mi uphill to the campground but lightly traveled. No experience with on site restroom / showers since we dry camped with 50 amp electric and did not use CG facilities. Rate reflects out-of-state w/ senior discount.

We stayed here at the end of the summer season and used this as a basecamp to visit South Haven and Saugatuck MI. Rate includes NR state parks annual permit. Campground roads are paved and sites are mostly sand & grass. As others have suggested, we unhitched our Toad at the registration office since some of the camp roads can be tight maneuvering . There were plenty of sites that can accommodate big rigs with no overhead or slideout issues. Some sites offer 50 amp service but ours was 30 amp only. Probably our biggest issue was 90% of the sites are not level so plan to use leveling blocks or boards under your levelers, or tires & stabilizers. We did not use the RR or shower facilities. It is a short walk to the beach however beach access was closed due to shoreline erosion. The facility is adequately maintained but in no way compares to the quality we typically see at COE parks for much less cost for an electric only campsite.
