The campground is impeccably maintained. Sites are very wooded and private. We didn't bring bikes but wish we could've, as the trails are extensive all over the peninsula. We brought our dog and we tent camped so it wasn't feasible. We did go a a couple of beautiful hikes out at the point (Anvil Trail), and the views were gorgeous. We also took the ferry from Winter Harbor to Bar Harbor which gave us more beautiful scenery from out on the water. Bar Harbor is extremely dog friendly. The only thing I would do different is upgrade to an RV, as there are no showers, and we had a couple of really damp days that permeated our tent. My favorite thing about Schoodic Woods is the unspoiled nature surrounding us and that is was not touristy in the least.

Easy check in from outside window. Staff was super nice and escorted us to our spot. It was a little pricey for us, but given the fact we couldn't get a reservation anywhere else, it was worth every penny to get out of the house! We just relaxed and got more familiar with our new RV, but it would be a great spot if you wanted to take the commuter rail into Boston. This was a staycation for us because it was difficult to get out of state into Maine and Vermont due to COVID restrictions. Cannot review restrooms as we avoided them and stayed isolated, but prior reviews raved about the cleanliness. The grounds were clean and our site was nicely wooded with plenty of privacy. If we go again we would look for Site E or F as they appeared to have the most privacy.
