No one was there when we drove past. Don't know what the hours are, it was late afternoon when we visited. There are however, little stands with people selling items along the drive through monument valley.
Kind of a cool little stop. The history is interesting, you can walk through what it would have been like for early settlers. The staff were very knowledgeable and friendly. There is a nice gift shop as well. If you have the time, I'd recommend paying a visit.
We had originally taken this off the itinerary as had read it was difficult to get to. However, the road leading to it has since been paved. When we realized that and how close we were, we decided to add it at the last minute. You do have to pay $8/person to get in. We only stayed less than 10 min, just to see it and take a picture. However, we thought it was worth it as just the idea of it was a cool thing. But it really is just markers in the ground as the pictures suggest.
Beautiful views. Just FYI, you have to travel up an unpaved, narrow mountain road to get there. It requires just a little sense of adventure but, it is worth it. I'd definitely recommend.
It is difficult to find, not in the exact spot app suggests. If you are traveling on 285 S towards Fairplay, it is on your left, just as the road curves. Past Hertiage Ranch of the Rockies which is on your right. The view traveling south is limited, just kinda see the head. But we looped back around, going northbound you can see it in full view. Sadly it was graffitied, but still an interesting find.
Beautiful location. Just FYI to travel to this and any other viewpoints along 34 Trail ridge Rd Section you must pay fee to enter park. Presently, the Rocky Mountain National Park is still operating under timed entry/reserved spots so be sure to plan ahead. The views along the trail are stunning and well worth it!
This is not the correct spot, if you are traveling east, it is on the left side BEFORE the pink dinosaur. When we drove through, it had scaffolding around it as work was being done.
