The roads within the campsite are very narrow and could be challenging to back into. The higher the site number, the higher you are on the hill. The road noise is incredible and will keep you awake if you’re in a tent.

Beautiful park with accessible hiking trails and lots to explore. See massive trees while hiking to the beach or do the easy loop to the lighthouse. Cliffs, eagles, Osprey, deer and turtles dotted our hiking.

Our campsite was level and easy accessible.

The bathhouse were clean with good water pressure.

My daughter is a cancer patient at Children’s National. I wanted to grab a spot close to DC that would give her some peace and some time to recover from chemotherapy before we did the long drive home. The park is clean and easy to access. The campground spaces are clustered close to each other so carefully review the map before you select your spot.

We arrived in the middle of the week just after the snow transitioned to rain. Our site was close to the bathhouse which was clean. The campground was largely empty because of the weather. We hiked the falls several times. It was amazing.

The campground was packed, but the sites were reasonably well spaced. Lots to see and do from hiking to visiting the town. The falls are beautiful but the hiking is even better.
