Well for starters I'm not really sure if this Cracker Barrel allows overnights. We arrived and asked the manager (as you should in all cases) and were cleared to stay for one night but it seemed like they usually can't allow folks to stay overnight at all per Daytona's local rules. So a little up in the air there.

All that said, they do have 10-15 full-length RV / bus sites in the back and plennnnty of space behind the store/restaurant, so navigating through was easy. AT&T service was 5 bars (nice!) and you're actually close enough to pick up the Daytona Speedway campground wifi, though it's a little slow (2 bars) if you don't have any kind of wifi boosting. Oh, right, this Cracker Barrel is RIGHT NEXT to the Daytona Speedway. It will be out your window and within 50 ft to the official property. Very neat experience. We only stayed over a night and continued on our way but had ourselves a great Cracker Barrel dinner (as you should) and had a peaceful night's sleep.

There is an airport just behind this location, just FYI. Flights stopped before we went to sleep but I think an early flight took off in the morning around 6:30a perhaps? Beware if you're a light sleeper or late sleeper :)

Pretty standard Cracker Barrel experience! Far enough from the highway that you don't get much/any highway noise, the parking lot is quite large with plenty of space (I'd say bigger than even most CB lots), and the staff is friendly and happy to have RVers. Great AT&T service as well.

Good CB location to stay over a night at — tons of room to park at the back of the restaurant and (at least as of 01/22) is totally fine with RVers staying over. Always good food 🙂. Great AT&T coverage.

I agree with the "Hilly but pleasant" review — this campground is nothing to write home about, but if you're wanting a base-camp to the surrounding areas it's plenty fine. The staff are perfectly friendly and gladly handle packages, which was nice, but the part really is quite steep in some sections. Prepare to drive slow, like many TT campgrounds the roads could use some work, but on the other hand this is a very forest-y campground so it shouldn't be too surprising.

So yes: hilly.. but pleasant.

Well no need to add much beyond what all the other reviews said. This was our first stay at a USACOE campground and we've certainly been spoiled. What a beautiful place. RV pads are impressively level and each space's front yard is well-manicured and friendly. Staying right in front of the river was wonderful, the view is unbeatable, and the manatees in the water were just fantastic. Mosquitoes definitely came out once the sun started to set but they're no match for our front door 😉. Would love to stay here again — hopefully for much longer!

The loop at the end of the campground and maneuvering was absolutely no issue for our 30' DP (toad off) but would likely be challenging for folks in a 45'.

Cell coverage was good enough for typical internet browsing. If you have a cell booster you'll have no issues.

Well we only stayed for two nights but overall we really enjoyed this campground. We were initially slated to stay at site G (one of the few along the water on the road into the main campground) but quickly found that G wouldn't work — all of the sites in that row have pretty soft sand and that wasn't going to play well with our 20k lbs 30ft Class A. Long story short, we ended up getting site 47 which overlooked the water (on tougher ground) and really enjoyed that. The weather at Huguenot ('hyoog-not', I think) can be a little finicky throughout the day like many Atlantic-coast towns (windy, sunny, cloudy, all in one day!) but the beach and wildlife are wonderful and we'd definitely come back and stay a week or two in the future.

That said, it's not close to much! If you need groceries or utilities it'll be about a 30 minute drive. Additionally, if you're trying to stay off highways in general (we try to stick to secondary / state routes and highways) then some of the roads you'll go through in Jacksonville can be small and very rough. Not Huguenot's fault though! Just a heads up.

Yes, helicopter traffic is real. You will see the navy base across the water (which we thought was neat) and watch plenty of absolutely HUGE tankers and ships go by every day, but overall we weren't bothered. The helicopter flights were only our first night there and stopped around 10pm, the rest of our stay there were only a few flights passing by and it was during typical daylight hours.

Great AT&T cell service!

This is a fine campground if you're not planning on being around it very much. The roads, as others have surely noted, are rough. The hills to get around the campground are very steep in some areas — surprisingly so. The place is not much to look at in general. That said, it's fully functional, you ought to drive slow with your rig anyway so the roads aren't too much worry, and it's on a pretty neat road/park that's a beautiful drive. So take it with a grain of salt :)

Well I can't speak for others' experiences but my wife and I really enjoyed staying here. It's a little confusing so let me explain some of the logistical details as best I can. For starters, yes, the website is a little clunky. You really do have to set the in/out time to 12:00PM and 11:59AM (like it says in big letters on the reservation interface) then pick the site you want on a day-by-day setup (each day is added to your cart separately). Then you pay for it online and you'll be good to go.

That said, it's a little ambiguous (both on the website and by the other reviews here on Campendium) as to whether or not RV's are allowed and/or can fit in the sites marked for Tents. To my knowledge, yes, I believe they allow RVs in the tent sites. I don't think they have any rules against that or anything, BUT the tent loop and many of the sites are quite small. There's plenty of overhanging trees and brush and the loop is pretty tight. We have a 30' motorhome that's 12'0 and I wouldn't do it. Frankly you could probably get away with a MH or trailer that's maybe 20-25' in length but the height will get you. I really wouldn't recommend attempting that loop with anything taller than 7, 8, MAYBE 9 feet. Do a pre-loop-check and see with your toad/pull vehicle.

If you're able to snag one of the actual RV sites then fear not — they're plenty big with tons of room to move campers of all size around. Each has water and electric. The central dump station is a little bit of a tight squeeze but nothing you can't back out of it you don't want to pull all the way through.

Anyway, aside from that the campground itself is really nice! It's very quiet at night, it's well maintained, the ranger and staff are very kind and welcoming, and it's less than a 5 minute drive to anything you'd need (Publix, Walmart Super, Home Depot, etc.). We've really enjoyed this place. Would definitely come back.

2 bars AT&T without; strong connection with a standard booster.
