Loved it! Stopped there on our way from Albuquerque to Sacramento, got there right when they opened at 7 AM. Very comfortable place with friendly people and good food (pretty cheap too)! Have some great souvenirs as well, little pricey but nothing more than any other shop. Had a nice breakfast burrito and fries and got a nice magnet and ornament for my car. Great to stretch our here after a long night on the road. Definitely would recommend as a stop if you're coming down I-40.

Local New Mexican here! Been on the tram before, it's a nice trip definitely but living here it's something you go on once and it loses it's cool factor. Definitely plan for weather! The ride is awesome but it does occasionally shut down due to high winds. Also, an update, as of early 2017 the only restaurant up there called "High Finances" has since been closed, upon arrival at the top there is a small tourist waiting area and occasionally walking trails (also sometimes closed but that's due to fire safety and the fire danger level of the day) if you go in the winter the Ski area could be open. Sets you back about 20 bucks. Pack some food and look at the forecast before and it'll be a blast!
