We spent most of our time in nearby Madison. We walked around campground, cut down a path to see the lake, went to the beach that was closed, cooked food for, and took lots of naps. Campground was alright, but there wasn't a lot of privacy and the noise level was higher than other parks. It would have been better if we could have rented a boat.

This was the park of my childhood, so I was excited to camp. The site was very private, but had a huge drop off. Nothing, and I mean Nothing was level. We even had to put boards under the front of our chairs so we wouldn't tip over. The trails were great and the lake was beautiful. Just invest in lots of levelers and a good set of chocks. This park had tons of kids riding bikes, so be careful as you drive through.

We've been to Summit Lake several times before, but have never stayed at the campground. The hiking is great. We've taken a boat out before. This time, however, the smell of sewage was strong as soon as we entered the campground. We had a site with water, but it ran brown. Needless to say, we kept our windows shut and used bottled water instead of site water for cooking, drinking, and brushing teeth. Hopefully they correct the issue soon.

We had one of the sites closest to the lake and still could not see the lake. The area was nice though. The lots in our area were large. Others we saw were quite shallow. Bring a lot of levelers. Most sites are uneven. Public restroom that I used was clean, but not well cared for. The toilet didn't flush. There was no soap and the water didn't turn on at the faucet. Thankfully we had an RV that we used primarily. Boat rentals and beach were closed for the season and rain made hiking messy. Trails could have been better marked with road signs. The camp store is very nice and staff was helpful.

The lots were spacious. We had full hookup. There were lots of lakeside sites in the electric section, but most were too short for our camper. The camp store was nice. You could rent boats for 24 hours. We took ours out the first day and then went back out at sunrise the next morning. It was beautiful. Very clean. Nice environment.
