Tent Camper During Winter Season (5/11-5/13)

We make a trip to Moraine Park Campground during Winter season so the spots are self-registered and first come first serve. We just drove around to pick a "good" spot that works for us, then obtained a registration form at the entrance of the campground and filled in the information (credit card, car number etc.)

During Summer season, campers can reserve their spot through Rocky Mountain National Park website: https://www.recreation.gov/camping/campgrounds/232463

Now, beware, since we arrived during the Winter season, only Loop B was opened for campers/visitors. Loop B does not has flushed toilets, only vault toilets are available.

We initially wanted to stay for 2 days, but due to strong wind and cold weather, we had to leave early despite registered/paid for 2 days. So our advice for everyone:
1. Best if you do SUV camping, less wind and it's warmer.
2. If you plan to do tent camping, reserve the site one day at a time, just in case your plan is changed because of the weather.
3. If you arrive during summer season, then choose the loop with flushed toilets
