Best to bring binoculars to see the petroglyphs from outlook.
Nice view from outlook.
Quick stop to collect the park info. Nice short trail in the back.
Parking is a headache. We came before 9am and the free parking is already full. I like they provide the free cart the carry ski and boots to the gondola. This is a big plus when you have 3 nagging kids. A lot of blue and black which we enjoyed. Not a lot green for beginners.
We started the hike late around 5pm after Xmas day. Kids (8, 11 and 13) and two dogs enjoyed the hike despite the weather was windy and chilly. The road is very uneven and after hearing a loud bump on our MDX at the beginning of the trail. We decided to return back parking lot to start. You really need high clearance truck to be able to drive to the trailhead. The beginning part hike was easy and part of trail shared with the dirt road with car. The last part of the hike from trail head is steep stairs but well worth it.
Best place to stay if you are visiting Monument Valley. We stayed at the star room on the 3rd floor. It was clean and warm. All rooms are facing The mittens so truly great view. The free wifi is only at lobby area. I can see the wifi from room but can't log in probably with do deferent password or employees. Book early it was full in the Xmas New Year weekend.
