“Priestess” Miriam is just a rude woman who clearly knows nothing about voodoo. I spent 2.5 hours with her in a reading and she couldn’t tell me anything. She just rambled on and on about her own life. She said many disrespectful things about voodoo as well as black people. She’s even stated on the radio that voodoo was created to “entertain” the white french men in between their trips. It’s sad that she would have the nerve to call herself “priestess” when she’s never held such a title. She’s a Christian pastor using the term “voodoo” to make money! Her deceased husband Oswan Chamani, who was the actual voodoo priest, finds her to be a disgrace and that’s why her first store got burned down in 2016. She is mean to black people yet she is pleasant to white people. I have seen her in action personally. This is yet another charlatan using the term “voodoo” as a tourist trap. As a mambo, I am highly offended by her arrogance and fraudulent behavior on behalf of the ancestors as well as the lwa. She doesn’t get a pass for being an elderly woman. Wrong is just wrong. She also claims to have a shrine room yet there’s not one real shrine in there. It’s just a bunch of cheap african masks and statues that were likely bought at the thrift store.
