Snow Canyon State Park was such a great surprise! It's this weird combination of sandstone rock, extinct volcanoes, sand dunes and lava fields, a mere 20 minutes from Saint George, UT, which is a gem all itself. The campground is small, with only 31 sites available. Fourteen have electric and water and four have electric only. The 14 with hookups are all pull-throughs, aligned in a row in the center of the campgrounds. They are tight, but their website informs you of this and warns you may not be able to use slides if you have them. Each site has a covered picnic table and grill. I believe the non-hookup sites also have fire pits.

The bathrooms (with soap, hand driers and flush toilets) were clean. The showers were decent but they're the kind where you have to pull a chain (and keep it pulled) for water -- I understand it's to conserve water but it makes showering a little more difficult. The park headquarters/visitor's center is small with a few souvenirs and a number of books for purchase. If you have any questions about how to access certain trails or points of interest, be sure to stop in -- they have additional maps besides the regular park maps. My favorite trail was Johnson Canyon, but it's only open seasonly. There's a great paved trail that runs north to south through the park that's great for walking, running or biking. It's also one of only two trails that allows dogs, so not as dog-friendly here as other state parks.

The city of St. George is a quick 20-minute drive and at a population of 82,000+, they have any service you could need, including an airport. Zion National Park is about an hour and fifteen minute drive.

The only drawbacks Snow Canyon has is that check in time isn't until 3pm (and if you're coming from NV like us, don't forget about the time change) and the sites are too close. If we stay there again, we'll choose one of the electric only sites of 15a or 15b that have more space and privacy and better views.

Cell signals were good on AT&T and Verizon with our WeBoost cell booster. We stayed in a 27' Airstream.

When we rolled in to Yellowstone's Edge in early May 2020, we only had one week booked. Once we arrived, we immediately extended our stay, and extended again, and extended again. What was supposed to be one week turned into five and a half. Seeing as we kept extending and never officially booked one month, we didn't get the monthly rate. Our rate is based on the weekly rate, with some of the weeks being at the off-season rate. The owners and all of the employees are so, so nice and accommodating. We had ended up staying in three different sites due to our multiple reservations, but they were all within a few sites from each other, so moving day was easy. We requested a site that backs up to the river on the south side of the property, and that's where they were able to keep us for our entire stay. The views from these sites are beautiful -- backed up to the Yellowstone River with the snow-covered mountains in the background -- seriously, the best views ever at an RV park! The grounds are immaculate. We only used the laundry room as far as amenities, but all machines were always clean and in working order. While there's no enclosed dog area, I'd say Yellowstone's Edge is dog friendly. There's plenty of grass and area to walk a dog as well as a number of dog waste stations. We dealt with May flies early in our stay, but that's what you get when you're on the river. They don't bite, so just more annoying than anything. The property is right between the Yellowstone River and Hwy 89, so there is some road noise, but we didn't find it to be too bad. The location is great too! About 45 minutes into Bozeman and 35 minutes to the north gate of Yellowstone in Gardiner. The grocery store in Livingston is about 15 minutes, where you'll also find some restaurants. Just a few minutes drive from the RV park is Follow Yer Nose BBQ, which is delicious. Keep an eye out for wildlife -- this is the first place we've ever seen a fox in the wild and we saw it twice; once with her babies, once without. There are also some great hikes in the area -- Pine Creek Falls, the Hogback Trail, and Joe Brown Trailhead.

We stayed in a 27' Airstream.

We were originally going to spend our two nights in the Pictured Rocks area across the street at the casino, but decided to take a spin through the national forest campground first to see if there were any sites available. We arrived at 1pm on Thursday, September 17th, 2020. We bypassed the first loop and drove to the second. Immediately, we came upon an empty site - Site 2 - and decided to snag it. We parked and then did a quick walk through on foot to see if anything else was available and there was only one other first come, first served site (about half seem to be reservable). We were super happy with our site -- it was very long, very private, and very level. The only drawback is that it was almost 100% shade, which meant our solar panels didn't do much for us. Generators are allowed, and honestly, seeing as the sites were so spaced out and had a lot of trees in between, you could barely tell if anyone was running one. Some of the reservable sites have lake views, but honestly, the wind is super cold off of the lake this time of year and we were glad to be nestled in the trees. Each site has a picnic table and fire ring. Firewood is for sale from one of the camp hosts. There are pit toilets and water available throughout. Also, there's a dump station. The national park sites of Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore are 25-40 minutes away. We had good cell signal on both Verizon and AT&T. We really enjoyed our two nights of peace and quiet in this campground! And make sure to get some pasties from Muldoons!

We were making our way from Silver Falls State Park to Harris Beach State Park and needed a one-night stop along the way with full hookups. This great little city park fit the bill and had easy access to/from I-5 without having interstate noise. People have mentioned a train, but we never heard it during our stay on November 5, 2021.

There are 14 full-hookup, pull-through sites. Ours was long and level, which made setting up a breeze. I called a few days before arrival to reserve a site, which I'm glad I did, because by nightfall, all the sites were occupied. At one point, we saw someone turned away, most likely because they didn't have a reservation and all of the sites were spoken for.

There's a dump station and yurt available, both for a fee, as well as restrooms with showers. This small RV park is part of a city park that has soccer fields, a baseball diamond, and a disc golf course. There's a nice walking path that encircles the entire park, so we were able to get a little exercise after a travel day. There are a number of businesses within walking distance, including a coffee shop, a Mexican restaurant, and a minimart.

The park was well taken care of and the fall colors were beautiful. We would definitely stay here again.

We stayed here in September 2023 in an 11' teardrop. Our rate reflects a 50% discount with the America the Beautiful Access Pass.

We live in Bozeman and this is a lovely place to get away for the night for us, as it's only a 25-minute drive from our house. Hood Creek Campground is right on Hyalite Reservoir and there are a number of great hikes within the reservoir area, many leading to waterfalls.

A lot of the sites are waterfront and the views of the water & mountains are just breathtaking. All of the sites have a picnic table and fire ring. The campground itself has vault toilets, drinking water, trash collection and a boat ramp, but no cell signal. This is a reservation campground and the sites book quick, especially the waterfront sites and especially on weekends.

The road to the campground has been upgraded since the previous reviews.

We had a pull-thru site with full hookups, though I’d recommend one of the back-in sites numbered 46 through 51 (Caddis Loop) with water and electric only. These sites offer great views of the mountains and lake through the rear window of an RV. The bathrooms are probably the nicest and cleanest we’ve seen anywhere, offering individual shower rooms for safety and privacy, so for that reason and the fact there’s a dump station, you could get by without a sewer hookup for a week or more with no issues. Each site has a fire pit and picnic table and the cell signal is strong on both Verizon and AT&T. The park is home to beautiful mountain views, some nice hiking trails, and quite a bit of wildlife including moose and a variety of birds. Henrys Lake is a big trout fishing destination with a boat launch right in the campground.

We arrived a few hours before check in and seeing as it was the first day of the year that the campground was open, we were able to check in right away. The people that work there are VERY nice and I'd think as long as no one is in your site, they'll let you check in.

There are a few decent restaurants and a very small grocery store in Island Park, which is a little bit of a drive from Henrys Lake, so I’d recommend to come prepared with all of the supplies/food you need.

Bunker Hills Campground is within Bunker Hills Regional Park in Coon Rapids, Minnesota. We stayed here a little short of a week so that we could visit a customer in the neighboring city of Anoka. The park had a really great feeling about it — the light always seemed magical, we ran into deer and turkey on a regular basis, and it has a really great trail system. The campground itself has restrooms with showers, which were pretty decent, even if there’s no temperature control and the water pressure could be a tad bit better. The sites are large and private with picnic tables and fire rings. There are three loops — one with 30 amp/water hookups (where we stayed), one with 50 amp/water hookups, and one with more 50 amp sites, tent sites and a couple of cabins. There is also a visitor’s center right as you enter the campground with a dump station nearby.

The park the campground is located in also has a lot to offer: A nice, paved trail system; golf course with restaurant (good food); playgrounds; picnic pavilions; restrooms; horse stables; archery range; disc golf course; and water park, which didn’t open until the day we left.

The nightly rate is $28, which is reasonable, but there was an $8 reservation fee as well as a daily access fee of $6 (or $30 for an annual pass), so if you aren’t staying long, it might not be very cost effective.

We stayed in site 10 for two nights in mid-September 2020, which was a large, paved, level site with water and electric hookups. They have a midweek rate August-October, so we only paid $15/night for each night we stayed -- so worth it! Most of the sites are very large and some are waterfront, which is easily discernible on the campground map. Seeing as we're self contained, I didn't check out the bathrooms. There is a camp host onsite, referred to as the 'caretaker', but they didn't seem to be around while we were there. There is firewood for sale onsite, though a nearby gas station has a much better deal. The dump station is in good condition and easily accessible.

The sites have so much space here! Even when the campground was almost full, which it was the second night, we never felt like we were too close to anyone. Seeing as this is a county park right on the bay, there is a boat launch area that is probably pretty busy during warmer months. There's a nice little protected cove area as well as a jetty from which to fish. There's a playground in the campground and a basketball court and fish cleaning station by the parking area for the boat trailer parking. During our stay, the leaves were just starting to change color, so the park looked even nicer. The only drawback to this campground is that the sign posts with the campsite number that are on the sites on the inner part of the loop get in the way of backing into the site. We're pros at backing up, but struggled with this site and noticed a few other people did too.

This campground is hard to review because it really is a beautiful, wooded campground that's extremely convenient when traveling along I-84. The sites are a decent length and fairly level, but some are at the wrong angle to the road for parking easily. I think there are 16 full hookup sites here, and 5 of them are available year-round, though the water is shut off at a certain point. (Water is available at the restrooms year round.) Most of the sites are incredibly shady, so I don't know how much sun solar panels would get in one of the non-hookup sites. While I didn't go in the bathrooms or showers, it was nice to see that the showers here are accessed individually, which is always a nice safety feature. There was one camp host onsite when we stayed (9/30/21-10/2/21), but it appears there are normally two. This little park sits right along the route of the Oregon Trail, and during the summer months, appears to have ranger talks. Wood is available for sale for $5 for a cart load. This is a smaller park without a check in kiosk, so make sure to know your site number if you have a reservation.

But, as everyone else as mentioned, the convenient location comes with road noise. A lot of road noise. While we could hear the noise when we were in our trailer, it wasn't terrible. But it was very loud when we were outside and sitting outside wasn't all that enjoyable. Some of the sites literally back up to the Interstate and you can watch people drive by as you sit at your site.

We had noticed a few people with their hoods propped open, so we asked the Camp Host if there was a packrat issue. He said, "Oh yeah, they're terrible. I've worked here for a long time and am on my fourth truck. This is the first one they haven't gotten to yet, but I do have one somewhere in my trailer making a mess of things." We popped our hood in the evening to deter them from settling in and had no issues. I just thought I'd mention it because I didn't see the issue referenced here or in any other online reviews.

I wanted to rate this campground higher because it IS beautiful, but between the road noise and the packrats, we wouldn't stay here again, therefore I couldn't go higher than 3 stars.

We stayed here from March 8-16 2020. Originally we had planned to only stay a couple nights, but this is when COVID was becoming an obvious issue, so we opted out of visiting two other Nevada State Parks and just stayed here for the duration. All Nevada State Parks are first come, first served, and when we arrived, the campground was full. The ranger in the booth said that a few people should be leaving, however, so we parked in the day use area and waited for someone to leave. Someone did in fact leave, so we ended up in site 10. All of the sites here are HUGE -- like maybe the biggest we've ever seen. The full hookups is what drew us in, the peace and quiet is was kept us here. Each site is a pull-through with a fire pit, picnic table, and shade structure. The restrooms/showers are all individual, which is great for privacy and safety, but they're very basic concrete block. There was a fire here in August 2019 that was still very obvious, as all of the vegetation that would have given the area some color and privacy between sites was gone. Don't get me wrong -- the sites are very well spaced out and noise wasn't an issue, but the landscape felt a little barren. While being right on the Colorado River, none of the sites actually have views of the river, which is a short walk away. The city of Laughlin doesn't offer much but a handful of casinos, some gas stations, a post office, a very sad mall, and an In N Out. For anything else (grocery stores, laundromat, Walmart), you'll have to cross the river into Bullhead City, AZ. The Colorado River is very beautiful here and seems to be a destination during the warmer months, but the whole area was pretty quiet during our stay.
