Stopped into GWCC on a long drive across the Upper Peninsula last weekend. We wanted to stretch our legs and grab a snack, and having visited Newberry before, we were expecting the usual small town fare. We were pleasantly surprised to stumble upon a new coffee shop on our stroll. GWCC is a very welcoming place, the owner is super friendly and the coffee, needless to say for a place set up by Seattle ex-pats, is excellent. The space is large and bright with interesting artwork on the walls. It feels like the kind of coffee shop you'd find in cool small cities like Minneapolis or Cincinnati. The baked treats on offer were delicious and great value for the quality. A couple of sofas or arm chairs would help make the space even more cosy, but all in all, GWCC is great and a must-visit spot in the beautiful area around Newberry.
