Absolutely beautiful historic district! I wish I could have stayed for a week. I had no idea there was so much history connected with Hot Springs. This city was integral to the development of "leisure time" & vacation culture in Victorian/Edwardian America. Also, a must-visit for any baseball fans or prohibition-era gangster aficionados.
DEFINITELY read the donation bricks in the courtyard! Probably some of the most interesting I've ever seen at a statue like this one. Great stop for any music lover and/or commie left-winger. Not much going on in town but I enjoyed taking in a few blocks of downtown Okemah.
Not far off the beaten path if you're heading out of Little Rock. The gas station is in fantastic condition & looks like it just got a fresh coat of paint. The town of Sherwood, AR has made it a police substation which is a smart move to keep this cool little hidden gem in good condition. Worth checking out if you're in the area!
Really beautiful and well-maintained park. There is a small lake with a good sized roofed wooden dock. There's a lovely path that stretches through the park with bridge crossings & small landscaped sitting areas peppered throughout. There's a playground & several pavilions that could accommodate large groups. Worth a visit!
Absolutely beautiful home! The house has been painstakingly restored & the furniture has been re-created from Frank Lloyd Wright's original plans after the family threw out the original custom built (and uncomfortable) furniture. Tour was great & our guide was very well informed. Absolutely loved it.
Food was as expected but took 25 minutes from order to receipt. Management clearly has no concern for its employees or customers. One person on the evening shift is not only inefficient but also irresponsible. I'd like to see the owner work by themselves for so long. Shame on you! No person deserves to be treated the way you have chosen to treat your employee.
