We stumbled upon this quite back accident thanks to the Roadtrippin app just to give our kids a grassy area to stretch their legs and play a bit in the park area. Needing to use the restroom, we knocked on the museum door as it seemed closed. Luckily we caught them just in time, 15 min before close and they were gracious enough not only to let us to potty, but also to tour the gallery. Upon entry I told my 3&5 year old girls to look but not touch and keep their hands behind their back. What a pleasant surprise when the Park Ranger explained to us that the gallery is very much intended to be hands-on and interactive fir kids and adults alike. The girls got to pretend to be archeologists sifting through the dirt to find treasures, pieces archeological pots and bowls back together and many other interactive exhibits.

Don’t let the small size fool you, there’s much to do in this hidden treasure of a state park/museum! Highly recommend if you’re ever in the area or emit you just passing through and need some mental and physical stimulation before hitting the road again!
