If you’re interested in mental health and Oregon’s own history treating patients with mental illness at OSH and throughout the state, definitely stop to visit. It’s cheap and it’s very interesting.

You can no longer go here to visit, take pictures, or whatever. There are several signs on the street and on the driveway that say you cannot park on the street, walk up the driveway, or drive up the driveway or else the police will be called.

After 14 years, the owner had decided to no longer let people on the property after dealing with over 1,000 tourists on her property at all hours of the day, and some of them disrespecting it (e.g., leaving trash, not picking up after pets, knocking on the door at 2:00 am, etc.).

I tried to see the house with a few friends today with no intention on going into the yard or knocking on the door - we just wanted a picture because we are fans of the film. We couldn't do that, which is a bummer, but we respect the home owner's privacy, as everyone should.
