It was just so beautiful! Worth the trip. There is a very scenic drive around the like and plenty of places to stop and hike if you'd like to. We took the little side trip down to the Pinnacles. It's down a long, bumpy road, but it was an interesting site. A bit otherworldly. It was chilly near the lake even in August, so be sure to bring your sweatshirt. But dress in layers, because it can be quite warm once you venture away from the rim of the lake.

The food was yummy and the staff was really nice. It's a total hole in the wall located right next to a gas station, but they have a wide selection of waffle items from sweet to savory as well as other food options. My husband's chicken fried steak was huge! They had to bring a second plate for his eggs and hashbrowns. he wasn't a big fan of it. I went really basic and just got a waffle, eggs, and bacon and I was super happy. The kiddos got a chocolate/banana waffle and I kept sneaking bites.

It certainly isn't a 5 star hotel, but it was clean, quiet, the staff were friendly, and there is a decent breakfast buffet included in the morning. Klamath Falls is not a city worth visiting on it's own... We drove through the downtown on a Friday evening and it was a ghost town, but we were making our way up to Crater Lake from Santa Cruz, CA and this was our stopping point since it's only about an hour south of Crater Lake. I would stay there again if traveling through the area.
