Fantastic place. The campground is wonderful with large spots and shaded with trees and ferns. Very quiet during the week. The spring is so clear. What a beautiful place. I wish I had stayed more than 2 nights.

This was a relaxing drive through park. The road is a little rough, some washboard and ruts. I drove through in my Class B RV (van)

Cool covered bridge. It is very narrow. I have an RV, a Class B, so less than 10' tall and around 7'wide. I decided not to drive through it. I was able to turn around (barely) DO NOT take this road if you are towing or have a Class C or larger. You will not be able to turn around.

Relaxing formal and informal gardens-I parked in overflow parking, mostly because I parked under a huge tree on grass. I have a van and there was plenty of room. I walked around the gardens, very nice,, then around the perimeter of the grounds. The paths on the perimeter are more like trails, some next to the river. There were various birds and lots of squirrels. I was only there an hour and a half, but if I go again, I'll give myself three hours. There is a gift shop, but it was closed by the time I walked by it.

Change the name to Old Savannah Trolley Hop on Hop off. The entire loop takes about an hour and a half. My tour guide was Mike. He was entertaining, and full of knowledge about the area. he shared information ranging from history to shopping to movies. I recommend this to get an overview of the city as well as areas you might want to spend more time.

Our guide, Ed, was very knowledgeable about the history of the area, as well as the trees, plants, birds, and alligators. We saw all of these including ospreys. That was a real treat. Ed showed us how to paddle the kayaks as well as put our life jackets on correctly. He helped us get into and out of the kayaks. Even I was able to get out without falling in, and I'm out of shape. I went on the two hour tour, well worth the money.

Lone Fir Cafe is open Wednesday through Sunday for lunch and dinner take out. It was fun sitting in the car and having our food brought to us with a tray for the window. Burgers are delicious, and staff was friendly and wearing masks. Looks like they have a bar, too.
