Walked in on a Saturday night and the place was deserted except for a two guys at the bar. Wanted to look at the Whiskey Tasting Room but was told by the bartender we were not allowed unless we had reservations - I guess he was too busy with all the customers. We did walk into their large beer cooler, which was arranged by countries and made some very nice beer selections. After getting our beers opened and poured the bartender informed us excitably that we were in for a treat as he was putting in Rob Zombies cult cartoon movie 'The Haunted World of El Superbeasto'. This movie would make most women uncomfortable and maybe explained the lack of female customers. I think the idea behind this bar is a good one but the lack of atmosphere is really hurting this place.

This place is just FUN! Out front is a great place to grab a photo opportunity with some Zombies. Inside is a blast - seriously you can incinerate a zombie for $1 and target practice on zombies for 75 cents. Every style of knife and machete adorns the wall of one room - my husbands favorite being the Wolverine inspired hand blade. Zombie target posters are a must have for any zombie aficionado and don't forget your Twinkies, they have those too!

Pack your camo-wear so you can feel like a local with you eat at this great little cafe. Friendly service and the breakfast was just like the cafe's we visited when I was a kid. Big pile of golden hash brown's with a tasty slice of ham, good coffee, huge pile of fluffy pancakes, wonderful over-easy eggs and a choice of breads including a scone with honey butter. Really doesn't get any better then that.

Walking into this charming lobby you will be greeted with rustic antler chandeliers, western memorabilia and a complimentary frozen margarita at check in. Our single queen room ($50) was cozy with a tiny vintage bathroom. Our bed was comfortable and the t.v. was a modern flat screen. Pack ear plugs because Ely does have an active rail road that is noisy at night...all part of that old west feel. The coffee brewed at the hotel restaurant is Starbucks and a large16 oz mug is only $4.50.
