A must-see if you are passing nearby. This is a great opportunity to stretch your legs and see some beautiful sites. The trail is easy: not very long, but has lots of exposed roots and rocks.
A busy campground but perfect for my group. We were tent camping and had a nice lot, but we found it difficult to get an electrical hook up as many other sites were using the shared box. Showers and bathhouse are always busy so be aware of the noise when selecting your site. Rangers were very helpful in providing tips for activities. Located very close to lake of clouds, lake superior beach access, and groceries and restaurants within 40min drive.
It was a nice on-the-way stop but I don't feel it was a "MUST SEE" in the summer. I'm sure in autumn and winter the observation tower is beautiful. Trail was very accessible
Was pretty crowded when my group came especially on the west side of the river which has a more accessible trail. The east side is a lot more fun and challenging. The waterfalls are easy to access and while there are signs and the leave no trace principles should be followed many people walk out on the rocks to get close to the water.
I would come every morning for sunrise if it was possible. By far the most beautiful half hour of my life.
