Addition. Watch for the ravens. We made the mistake of leaving our water bladder out when we left to explore the Canyon and returned with it pecked and leaking water. Also, not being a fan of insects, really not that bad here. No mosquito issues at all. Again, great spot and well maintained

Got lucky. Spots fill up quickly for the summer but found a Friday and Saturday spot during the centennial celebration weekend. Stayed on Juniper Loop 134 which is right next to the restroom. The camp spots are very nice with a table and fire pit. Showers are ok. Stayed at Yellowstone last year and got vouchers for the showers for each night we stayed, not the case here. Costs 2.50 for 5 minutes of very low pressure showers. Everything is close by. Market is down the street and the bus stop is right there. We personally avoided the buses as they tend to be crowded and drove to different spots. If you get there early parking is not an issue. Many people warned me about crowds at the South Rim, but honestly it wasn’t that bad, except on the buses. We were there June 28 & 29 and, even though I’m not s huge fan of crowds, it never felt uncomfortable or overwhelming.

Ok first of all it is beautiful once you get up there, but the parking situation is chaos. We got there at 3pm and nixed it. We went back the next day at 9am when it opens and it was much better. We left at 10 am and the chaos was well underway. The Chapel is beautiful and the views are well worth the hassle of getting there

I loved this spot. Going there has been on my bucket list since I was a kid growing up on Westerns and Forest Gump. It’s $20 to get in for 4 people in a car and is well worth it. The museum isn’t anything special and sort of with they invested more into it, however the history is fascinating. The area is run by the Navajo tribe and they do a great job maintaining the area as well as embracing their culture and the popularized history of the valley via film. The self guided tour is a nice loop through the valley and if you choose not to do the whole loop you can turn around. Honestly, make this a To Do if you are in the area because you won’t be disappointed.
