Hard to imagine the area was once jungle like? Not so if you are a Christian and believe what God says. In Genesis he speaks of a global flood. Easily explains why fish fossils for instance are found in current desert like areas with no bodies of water anywhere near there. You either have faith in evolution which is a theory that has no scientific proof or you believe in God and what he says is true. Neither can be “proven” right or wrong so both require faith. Anyway, beautiful country.
