This dump station is right of of HWY 285 SB in Artesian. It’s very convenient and easy to use, plus it’s very clean!
It’s free of charge and there is a nice BIG city park there as well.
This park is small and the campsites are intimate and close together - But we found it rather enjoyable and peaceful. Our site had a narrow pad on a short pull through but we were under some tap pine trees so all was good.
The staff is friendly and the bathrooms are new and clean.
There are a TON of great hiking trails here and a few campsites you need to hike too.
We really enjoyed this park.

This is one of the most expensive Texas State Parks we have stayed in - but - the campgrounds are clean and well maintained and the comma on areas are large, clean and well lit. There is a 2.5 mile paved walking trail that connects all the campgrounds and the lake use area. The lake is area is really good with a beach and picnic tables and a fishing pier. You can see the sunrise and sunset on the lake.

This sis great state park very close to Dallas. All the restrooms and campsites are clean and well maintained. This park has plenty of trails for hiking and bikinging and also connects to the State Park greenbelt. Plenty of places to ride bikes, ride horses and hike! The lake is very accessible for kayaks, canoes, and fishing.

This is e smallest state park in Texas but it is one of our favorites. The sites are close together and site on a large beaver pond. Despite it being small the campground is cozy and quiet.

Great state park and campground on the rim of the canyon! The views of the canyon and wildlife are spectacular! There are plenty of Bison and Prairie dogs to watch as well.
Watch where you step though as the Bison do their business where they please!
I stayed in Honey Flatts. The campsite was big with little to no shade. The bathroom looks old but it is clean.

I decided to try this part as it's close to home and was available at the last minute. I found the office to be friendly but not very knowledgeable regarding other parts in the area.
My campsite was on the lake with a good amount of space and shade. There is a lot of camper noise in the campground that seems to carry for some of reason. Other than that I found it peaceful and all the campers seem friendly enough.
The sites away from the lake are plain with most in large fields.
The only deaw back I found was that there are a small number of restroom in the campground and they are all space a large distance apart. Also the restrooms are old, and in need of some minor repairs.
It was a good experience all around.

This is a small Texas State park that has a few long hiking trails and a canoe trail on the park property.
The campsites are small but on the lake and have great views. The odd number campsites are on the shoreline. From our site - 19 - we watch fish jump, ducks and heron in the water.
The hiking trails are shaded and are well maintained.
