Gorgeous hike! Super short hike to tons of petroglyphs. Fun cliffs and boulders to scramble over. Hike a while and see a slot canyon. One of my favorite spots this trip!
Take a walk to see the goats. Take a long hike to see a beautiful view from the side of glassy mountain. Take a stroll around the lake. Tour Carl Sanburg's house and check out the bookstore. There is transportation available if you can't make it up the hill on foot and everything is free except for the house tour. Parking can be sticky on holidays and weekends during season. Really peaceful and beautiful place year round.
Great walking park for all ages an leashed, well behaved dogs. Unusually nice playground. Find a geocache!
Call ahead. There had been rain and it was closed when we got there. There are good postcards at the grocery store in Page. Be sure to stop at Horseshoe Bend!
Amazing! Breathtaking! Terrifying! I love heights but this was scary. You can stand back and still have an amazing view. It is as safe or as dangerous as you want it to be. It was really hot in October but the hike is very short. Easy parking. Lots of people but not uncomfortably crowded. I'm so glad we went!
Everyone said "Go!" We said "Why?" They said "Just to see it!" After Yellowstone, I thought I was sceneried out but a trip through Grand Teton and gazing at the mountains and Jackson Lake is completely worth it! Go! Just go see it!
The gorgeous teal color of 'Black Pool' actually made my husband get out of the car to look at "another geyser" as he put it. The whole hike is very nice. Black pool might have been my favorite hot spring in Yellowstone. I loved looking deep in the water at the mysterious hint of caves deep below. The little hot springs boiling right at the edge of lake Yellowstone are also worth seeing.
You can get a great tote bag with an areal view of the spring from the Yellowstone Association stores. From the path the bacteria mats are very interesting. The real showstopper is the mist. The colors of the spring and bacteria mats were reflected in the mist and it actually looked teal and peach. Maybe it's the time of day. Don't expect bright colors but enjoy the beauty of the vast size of the place.
The color is just like the photo but what you can't see is the depth! It looks like a sea cave in Caribbean waters. So pretty!
Beautiful vistas and lots of wildlife. Look for people pulled over. Some folks showed us wolves through their spotting scopes!
