The park itself is kinda run down and smallish (with no view I could see, but that may be due to overgrowth along that side? Anyway, we drove down the hill and parked instead at the neighboring boat launch/harbor where at least we could walk by the water (and see a lighthouse) + use the public bathroom and buy some ice cream. So not a wasted stop, but the park itself is nothing.
Stayed here with small dog--nice enough and affordable for a pet-friendly motel. Room was clean although carpet was not great (but that is honestly par for the course when you book a pet-friendly room--I've seen much worse). Pretty good pool (dog can not go in pool area or be left in room, so pool is not on if you're traveling alone). Beds were comfortable. Super hot day and AC was OK, not the best, but eventually the room did cool down. Nice staff. Overall a decent stay. Nothing else much in the area--for us it was a decent stopover on a Route 66 road trip.
