The cabin was immaculate upon our arrival, which was really nice as we had been in a car all day. It is much larger than I thought it would be. The kitchen has a refrigerator, electric range, microwave and coffee maker. Everything we needed! There's a dining area and large living room. I went up to the loft to check out the bedroom with firm and really comfy king bed. There is a dresser for storage in the bedroom. There is flat screen TV's which we never turned on. Our time was spent sitting on the porch overlooking the mountain. The mornings were cool enough to put on a light jacket. It was warm in the afternoon, but the ceiling fan made it comfortable, and once the sun went down in the evening it was lovely. Hummingbirds were hitting the feeder all day. We saw hawks, crows and cardinals during the day and I'm certain that there were bats flying around after the sun went down. We saw a bear right down the road by the lodge. Pretty cool! The hot tub was set up and ready to go, but it was pretty warm out and we never got in it. The entrance to the national park is literally few mile from the cabin. I couldn't believe how close it was. We spent two days in the national park, checking out the water falls, the beautiful scenery and doing some fly fishing. It got crowded in the afternoon, but the mornings were really nice. We packed a picnic every day and there were plenty of pull offs to stop and eat. Our main reason for picking this location was to view the eclipse and we weren't disappointed. We watched it from the driveway. I wouldn't hesitate to go back...maybe for leaf peeping in the fall. It's a very comfortable place and all of the local folks were just as nice as can be. Overall, our stay was great.
