We took a random wander while staying with my family in Quartzite. Drove through Joshua Tree National Park on the freeway, and did not really get down into it. We saw that it was an amazing place and hope to return for a closer look.
Definitely a tourist trap, but with genuine historical merit: mining, donkeys, incredible landscape.
My family and I discovered this place when we moved to Great Falls in 1962. Always a favorite to share with others!
I love this place! I have spent many hours atop the bluff. You can hear the rumble of buffalo hooves and feel the tremor of the stampede, here.
