Reasonably priced, decent BBQ. I had the chopped pork and the rib tips and I couldn’t tell which was which. They only offered once sauce which had a nice tang, but it wasn’t exceptional. The Mac and cheese was unremarkable but the okra was good. This is. Good option if you need a BBQ fix, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to eat here.
Cool site for about an hour. Yours are free and start on the hour. Passionate group of volunteers work here and do a great job, the house has been well preserved and is a testament to the craftsmanship of the men who built her.
I think this place is so popular because it offers relatively fresh food compared to other fare in the area. My sandwich was good, but not amazing. They did make huge cinnamon rolls, but I found it to be overly sweet and not to my liking. Worth a stop if you are in the area and craving something fresher and lighter.
I didn’t get to see a train so this spot was just okay. It is a very quick stop though, with plenty of parking it is easy to get in and out of quickly. Worth stopping by if you are in the area.
I loved this lake more than Lake Louise. The blue was so deep and beautiful even on a cloudy day. The parking is very full, but turns over quickly especially mid day. You can paddle the lake, but if you expect to rent a canoe plan to pay $120 per hour! Yikes.
This was a bucket list item for me to see. Even though it was pouring rain, it was still stunningly beautiful. It does get crowded, so be prepared. Parks Canada does an amazing job of monitoring the crowds though. I want to go back to do the tea house.
Beautiful gardens that offer fantastic shots of Banff. Relatively small, they are an oasis and absolutely stunning. Free to visit, this is a great stop if you want some fresh air but are not up for a rigorous outdoor experience.
A cool and quick stop. The pool invites you to dive right in, but DON’T! The resource and waters are protected. If you have an annual parks pass your admission is covered, kids under 17 are free. Nice interpretive center as well. Great for a rainy day.
