Keep driving past the navigation stop to the end of the road where there is a parking lot that has several access points to the beach.

Unfortunately a lot of the businesses seem to have left the downtown area and now has a rundown appearance.
Clean rooms, hot breakfast, and good customer service. Breakfast area is small and only has 3 tables but we hit it at a good time.
Old school theater with original paintings available for sale on the walls. Has a cool vibe. Parking garage is located across from the theater entrance. The previews started exactly at the listed showtime. It was a little disconcerting because nothing was playing on the screen and we weren’t sure if we would have to remind them to play the movie!

Gatherley castle stood beside the A1 just north of Catterick. It was demolished in 1963.
