We stayed at three different coastal state parks in Oregon and this one was my favorite. The campground itself was very well maintained, obviously has a lot of care put into it. They have wastewater dumps for greywater everywhere, free hot showers, and sell firewood for a very reasonable $5/bundle for a few hours every evening. Sites were fine, fairly level. Kinda close but not too bad. It's about half RV and half tent sites.

The beach is in fairly easy walking distance. You descend a bit to get down but it's not too bad (and you can drive to the day use area if you want to make it shorter). The beach is large and has great tidepooling, a really cool sea stack with a hole in the middle, and a stream running out to the ocean that my boys loved to build dams on. There are a bunch of scenic viewpoints and additional beaches just north in the Samuel Boardman Scenic Route.

There's a bike path that goes most of the way into town also. Brookings has a little harbor with the usual ice cream and seafood shops. The town is small but has everything needed, groceries, propane, etc. Overall, great campground. I was sad to leave. The only ding is that there's a lumber mill across the 101 and they were using their equipment at some weird hours, lots of back-up beeps. And the 101 is not far away so road noise can be an issue.

Also - you don't pump your own gas in Oregon. Didn't know that and was a bit of a surprise.

All of the below re: windy roads and unlevel spots. But, it's quite secluded and there are several hiking trails. Views are very nice. Weather can be changeable so keep an eye. It's 45 minutes to White Sands National Park and that is a stunning place, highly recommend. Water at the gate is very convenient.

This is a really fantastic state park. Tall pine trees towering over the campground, a cute little lake, and so many hikes we couldn't do them all even in three days.

We were in the campground loop that is being renovated soon and that's a good thing. The asphault is buckled and leveling was messy. But the other loops were not like that.

The hiking here is seriously great. Seven Hollows trail is a 4 mile loop and there are rocks to climb and streams to cross every half mile. It is slow going with kids but they have so much fun they lose track of time. Cedar Creek loop is a phenomenal 1.5 mile trail. Overall, would highly recommend.

Good At&T in most places in the park. No TMobile whatsoever.
