The pumping station is located within Mattamuskeet NWR. The pumping station was converted to a hunting lodge and the chimney to an observation tower. The hunting lodge closed in the 1970s due to decline in the duck population. If you visit be sure to stop by the Visitors Center and drive the causeway across the lake.

The park is a ball field, but there is a small plaque commemorating the WWII POW camp.
