Decent food, but kind of a limited menu. The reason to eat here is the second floor balcony. Great view of the island and Taylor's Creek.
When it's good, it's good.
But when it's bad, it's really bad.
Go in the off season. When it's crowded, the food and service suffer. In the off season, however, the food is very good.
I have been coming to Beaufort my entire life, seriously. Anytime I go (whether it's to escape for a vacation or visit my family), I ALWAYS make sure I go to Boardwalk Cafe, sometimes multiple times a visit. It's the cheapest, most delicious waterfront dining you will find in Beaufort. I daydream about their tomato basil soup, if that tells you anything. The seafood is always cooked to perfection, as are their other meals. The staff is warm and friendly, which used to be a rare find in area! Many nights have live entertainment at the next door restaurant that is still easily viewed from the Boardwalk Cafe dining area. And if you are coming in from the water, you can dock your boat right outside the restaurant.
