Beautiful but beware of bees!
Family of 6 in a large tent booked site 5. In the shade, lots of space & privacy, kids loved climbing rocks! Excellent views for sunset. Beware of rattlesnakes that hide in the cracks (had my 11yo daughter almost step on one when it started rattling at her.)
Stayed 5 days. Easy access off highway & free parking. Large room (2 queens with hideaway couch) and great customer service. Used pool & exercise room. Best continental breakfast & 24hr coffee bar!
Right off I-80. Pizza places nearby for a quick dinner. Excellent, friendly staff. Clean, comfortable beds and room! Was able to swim in the pool and eat a large, hot buffet breakfast. Average pricing.
We were told a .75 mile hike and that is incorrect, much shorter! Kids enjoyed the quiet, easy stroll.
One of the best campgrounds we’ve stayed at! Tented with our 4 kids for 2 nights/3 days. Fast/convenient check in process. Large sites. Clean bathrooms and showers. Camp store with great service. Large/deep pool, fun playground, scheduled activities in the evening.
This is our family’s 5th time to GSMNP, driven Cades Cove every time. Expect slow, bumper to bumper traffic, takes 2-3hrs total if you drive the whole loop. If you’re looking for wildlife and not scenic views- this is the place. We’ve seen black bear every time we’ve been in it, and this last time we saw a coyote, deer, & turkeys too!
