Nice little day trip from the Twin Cities. It reminds me of Minnehaha Falls, but smaller in scale. You can walk right up to the falls, but be careful of black ice in colder weather. The trail down to the St, Croix is short enough for young families to take and it follows the creek down to the river, where there is a beautiful view. Be prepared to walk some steps though, as you need to descend down a long stairway to see anything. I would not recommend this trip for those who have difficulty walking. The town of Osceola is pretty small, but clean, with a few shops.
