So far, a very cool spot for the whole family! Located just off 99-N (Traver exit) the venue is on the LEFT. There’s an antique barn, cheese shop, several friendly livestock, a shooting gallery, bbq, outdoor plaza (chilly today but still nice), gift shop, and a beautiful treehouse. Definitely worth a stop. Plan to spend at least 45 mins-1 hr. We were here on a relatively slow day but I’m sure this place just buzzes when there are lots of families. I would give it 5 stars but didn’t have time to check it all out! Definitely 5-star potential!

Beautiful wetlands. We came during a government shutdown and it was peaceful and quiet. Lots of places to stop and observe but bring your binoculars and/or telephoto lens. The birds stayed en masse pretty far back with some stragglers near the shoreline so they are difficult to see without help.

Probably the best suggestion would be to avoid the preserve after a heavy rain; the roads are not paved beyond the main entry. The paths/trails are gravel and might be muddy. A nice hour or so out of the day.
