I fell in love with this RV Park. It is basic, but perfect for me. Beautifully set in pines, flat, cotton fields all around. Quiet and peaceful. Sites are 50' by 50', lawns, shrubs, so well cared for. They cater to monthly rentals, but welcomed me for one night. They greeted me and helped me back in even though I arrived after 9. Lovely owners.
They are adults only, but they do welcome younger adults who are working in the area and need a place with monthly rates. I highly recommend this park! Check out their website.

This is a GA Power maintained campground on Lake Oconee. They do an excellent job at laying out and maintaining their campgrounds. While mostly a typically equipped state campground, what makes it 5-star for me is the cleanliness, the spacious sites, the shade, the lake view, there is a metal fishing dock. It was peaceful and quiet even though it was pretty full. And only a couple miles from a Publix and other stores and restaurants. I will definitely return!

This is how I grew up camping. Sites are spread out and have trees and bushes, unlike many Alaskan campgrounds. This one has a stream or small river that meanders through and almost every site is right on the water. When I visited, the water was flowing pretty quickly, which could be a deterrent to those with small children or animals. I had read that visitors can tube the river from entrance to exit, then repeat. Many campgrounds in Alaska are either like a parking lot with marked spaces and hookups, or are wooded with no conveniences. This one has both. Dump site on premises. Picnic tables and fire rings at each site. About 3/4 mile off AK 1. $39 for 30 Amp, $49 for 50 Amp. Helpful friendly staff. GS discount.

Even though it was a holiday weekend, the campground only had a few visitors. This area is known for salmon fishing, so probably much busier mid-summer. A little better than most Alaskan campgrounds with hookups, this parking-lot style lot did have some trees and shrubs, was clean, and well kept. I arrived after 8, so office was closed, and my "envelope" was not on the door as promised, but there is a self-service system, so I found an available pull through site and deposited my payment. Campground is near the main highway, but is quiet at night. Was perfect for a one-night stopover on my way to Valdez. Had wifi.

This RV Park is small, maybe 20 sites, and is run by one of the local Native corporations. It appeared to be completely self service. I had put in a request via email, and received a response, but saw no one working at the location the hours I was there. Basic parking-lot style campground with electric and water at each site, plus picnic tables. It was over 20 miles off the main highway, down a curvy hilly road near Chitina, AK. If you like remote locations with electric this is for you. There was only one other RV there during my stay. Would be fun to get a few families together to visit and camp here.

First and foremost, the view is amazing! You have mountains 360 degrees around, plus you could have a site right on the water. Bear Paw has two parks actually. The one on the water is smaller, with approx. 22 sites. This park is for adults only, and I'm guessing that is because it is right on the harbor. The family park is just a couple blocks away, and has a playground and other children's activities. I loved staying right on the water and my site, #12, was amazing for views. There was some noise from the boats going in and out of the small boat harbor, but nothing too distracting. Each site had a picnic table and fire-ring, and trash cans were numerous. Staff was very friendly and helpful!

Williams is mountain top, and I hit here during a light snowfall. Roads were fine. This park looks like a nature park, with space between units, plenty of trees, very pretty. They have a small hotel as well, and real train cars converted into cabins. The owners are lovely, very kind and helpful. I would definitely stay here again!

Dry camping amidst the beauty of Alaska. This area is one of the most scenic. The sites are spaced apart, most are wooded, vault toilets are numerous. Very clean, well kept, fees are charged year around, reservations recommended in summer, may close when weather prohibits access.
