Very cool stop. We went here for a few hours before a family wedding with the kids ranging from 5 to 14 years. There was something to keep everyone interested and the details on the signage were very interesting for history buffs. It was amazing to see how people lived and how the mechanics of the ship worked. A great piece of history and a reminder of what our navy experienced in WWII.
Wonderful place, full of history. We went in August and it was mobbed by tourists. The historical buildings are (expectedly) small, so it is a very tight fit with lots of tourists. There is a great deal of walking, so bring comfortable shoes. The trams were very nice and were a nice way to take an air-conditioned break and still see the sites. You have to love history to love this location, but if you do love history, it is definitely something to see!
Fun visit. We stopped here on a longer trip to stretch our legs and it was a good time for about an hour. There is some walking up and down to the cave, but the caves themselves were very interesting and not hard to walk through.
Great place to visit--lots of interesting artifacts and exhibits. Food at café is limited and so is seating, so be prepared for large groups coming during lunch times.
