My boyfriend and I went to the Mendocino Hotel for our anniversary dinner. The hotel is Victorian style and has lots of charm (The old wooden bars are gorgeous) The staff was very accommodating. We sat at the bar and ordered drinks while we waited for a table. We were seated within 10 minutes. We each had french onion soup for a starter which was absolutely delicious. I had the pork chop entree and my boyfriend got the prime rib. Both were amazing. This is very much an adult environment. Another reviewer said that the menu wasn't kid friendly. I agree. This is an ideal date restaurant with dim lights and candles. It does not cater to families, but it is very charming for date with a loved one.

I have also been to this restaurant for brunch before. The atmosphere is very different in the breakfast room. It is much more light-hearted and family friendly. I highly, highly recommend this place.

Quaint and charming. Close to Fort Bragg. Affordable. A lot of attention to detail. The grounds were beautiful. Only improvement we saw was that the staff could be a little more friendly. Would still definitely recommend!

The Sutter Buttes are mostly privately owned. There is land that is supposed to be a state park, but so far there is no way to access it. The owners of the surrounding land have come together to make a trust. Though the land isn't open for visitors to roam alone, there are several guided hikes that are open to the public (costs ~30/person). The owner that took us on our guided hike was very passionate about teaching and taught us a lot about geology and showed us some of his favorite spots. I'd highly recommend a visit, but plan in advance!

GO SEE BEARIZONA!!!! Such a cool place. Where else can bears walk up next to your car? The animals seem well taken care of and we spent a lot of time looking at the exhibits. The attention to detail around the park is impressive. Love the landscaping around the picnic area. Highly highly recommend. You won't be disappointed!!

Heads up! $5 per person, cash only. A nice little stop but in the middle of nowhere.

Beautiful canyon! There's a lot to see and I wish we had more time. Really hot in August, but worth the stop.
