Beautiful view from this high elevation campground (around 10,000 ft). Sites are well spaced but don't offer a lot of privacy. Get here early as it fills by early afternoon most days. It was very windy when we were here and quite chilly at night. You can hike right out of your campsite to wonderful alpine lakes. My husband caught 18 trout in about an hour on the lake right by camp. 2 moose and a whole herd of cattle walked through the valley near camp one morning. Centennial is about 20 minutes down the mountain and offers a bakery/ice cream/gift shop along with a bar/restaurant, with another soon to open. There is no cell service here but a neighbor had good LTE if he went up a small hill by the sign in station.
