Awe inspiring. Beautiful vistas. Loved it but glad my husband drove. Road is in great condition but the switchbacks and lack of guard rail had me gripping the handle on the passenger side (I was in the back seat). I don’t like heights and we were only a couple feet from a shear drop of 4000+ feet. Glad I did it but glad I didn’t have to drive.
Easy check-in, large rooms and comfortable beds. Small pool. Convenient to the parks. Overall great value.
I’m sure it is a 5 star experience if you are able to do some of the hikes. Unfortunately, my son was suffering from altitude sickness and so nauseous that we just drove through which wasn’t as fun. Do yourself a favor and get out of the car. Hike, bike or Segway through it. You’ll enjoy it so much more.
Beautiful prairie campground. Decent sized sites, some trees. We only stopped for the night so we really didn’t get to check out the trails or swimming hole but we could’ve spent a couple more days here for sure. Crazy windy the day we were there. The lake and prairie views were beautiful.
Great place to camp. Spacious sites and clean. Several trails to choose from and the cave tour was awesome. My kids (14, 11 and 3) loved it. Plan to spend about 90 minutes in the cave. Wish we had had more time but hopefully we can make it back there our next trip out west.
