We took the Badlands Loop off exit 131 on a whim and were amazed at what we saw! The change in formations and color from place to place was spectacular and my kids 15 and 10) were as awestruck as the adults were. This is definitely a must do.
We visited this site in the morning and Mt. Rushmore in the afternoon. The Crazy Horse experience was fantastic and totally worth the price of admission. The movie was well done and provided an interesting perspective on many things. My husband is Polish and my kids especially appreciated that the sculptor and his family are Polish. While Mt. Rushmore is complete, the experience there lacked the storytelling of the vision and construction that the Crazy Horse Memorial had. This gets a high recommend from us.
