This place was sufficient for a one night stay. The room smelled a bit funny and there was dust in all the corners but the parts of the room that you actually use were clean enough. It is definitely not as clean and bright as the pictures make it out to be. It is a pet friendly hotel though so good if you’re traveling with a dog. The fridge in the room worked fantastically well, which was great for us to put our food in for the night. Overall an adequate hotel.
The church was beautiful, they had it done up for Christmas when we went. The church is a solid 20 min stop not to far off the highway. There is also restaurants and small stores in the same little square. It is maybe one block squared with a beautiful gazebo in the center. It’s a great place to stretch your legs, walk the dog, and do a little shopping.
Admission is 18$ for adults, but kids 5 and under are free. It’s about 6 miles off the highway. They have a small museum and a giant hole in the ground. The gift shop is amazing though, they had beautiful marble chess sets. They also have a subway inside. It took us about an hour to do the whole thing. It was a nice short stop on our road trip. Also if you go to the top observation deck you can see for miles in every direction. It was beautiful.
