I really liked this place, very foresty, lots of trees, the sites are kind of all scattered around near each other. Even though there is power and water for most sites, it's hard to tell where the sites are, which is kind of cool. You kind of find a spot and squeeze in between the trees.

But oh man, the mosquitoes! I don't know if it was the time of year (mid October) or the weather that particular day, but we were completely attacked and swarmed by them every time we dared step foot out of the rv. Even with bug spray and long sleeves and pants. I wanted to explore the area more but didn't hardly leave the rv because of them.

Very nice owners, nice that they are taking covid seriously, it's a contactless check in. No dump station. You need to be self contained as bathroom and showers are closed right now. It's right off the road so you can hear the cars, but it's not bad.

I'd stay here again later in the year when there are fewer mosquitoes.

9/14/2020, very smoky here from the surrounding fires.

Pesky swarming bugs in the evening, and there’s a weird smell. Otherwise the place was ok, very basic and simple. Sites are nicely spread out.

We found the campground by following directions for River Campground from Hwy 50, and I believe we made it to Lahontan Dam campground #2.

There’s a quick moving river stream with no bank. Very quiet on this Monday.

Easy to get to from the road. Can hear road noise but it's not a busy road. Creek nearby for water, a little dirty down by the creek (graffiti and garbage). There's a garbage can here, which is nice. Heavy thick mud on your shoes and tires. Nice walking trails.

Nice campground, easy to get to. 2 miles of rumbly washboard gravel road, and 2 big dips, but we made it with our 26 ft RV. $5/night. ATT cell service, no verizon service. No water. There is a trash dumpster at the entrance near the main road, but none in the campground. Wide open spaces, sites are spread apart but it's all open. Red ants everywhere, watch your poor dogs. Very quiet at night.

Good place to stay. Even though it's close to the freeway it isn't noisy. Sites are paved but not level. 30 amp available at the electric sites, but no water hookup. You can fill your water tank near the dump station. Even though it says that reservations are required, they are not. The office at the entrance to the park does not handle camp stays. You have to go see the campground host. All sites have the red sign on them that says this site is occupied, but only the ones with a paper tag with a date on it are this ones with reservations. Only credit / debit accepted, probably due to covid.
